Kijiji Sees 75% Increase in Searches for iPhones, Currently Over 36,000 Listed for Sale

Every iPhone launch sees users post their existing models on classifieds or post new models for sale to make a quick profit. Kijiji today has released some numbers on how the iPhone launch has affected traffic to the classifieds site.

According to Kijiji’s data, September alone saw a 75% increase in average daily queries for iPhones compared to the cumulative searches for the entire year leading up to this month.

iPhone ad postings have also jumped, as since the start of September, 3,400 ads have been posted daily—a 66% increase compared to daily ads posted from January to August 2014. To date, over 36,000 iPhones are listed for sale on Kijiji, with over 6,500 listings for either the iPhone 6 or iPhone 6 Plus.

During the launch of the iPhone 5, Kijiji similarly saw a spike in listings for iPhones, both new and used.
