McDonald’s Canada Has Served Over 1 Million Free Cups of Coffee to COVID-19 Front Line Workers

Last month, McDonald’s Canada announced it was offering free cups of coffee and tea to first responders and others fighting COVID-19 on the front lines.

Now, less than one month later, McDonald’s Canada has let iPhone in Canada know over one million complimentary cups of coffee and tea have been served to those on the front lines.

A company spokesperson said, “we are working to support those services working tirelessly during this unprecedented time,” reiterating all front-line healthcare workers and emergency services personnel can get a free McCafé coffee or tea at participating locations.

McDonald’s has also delivered food to hospitals and Ronald McDonald Houses during the COVID-19 pandemic, along with donating over 250,000 pounds of food to local food banks.

“It’s our way to show appreciation for those who are on the front lines of this pandemic every day protecting and caring for our communities across the country,” added the McDonald’s Canada spokesperson.

In regards to a recent McDonald’s USA promo offering free food to front-line COVID-19 workers, the company told us that offer is only available in the U.S. and not Canada, for those wondering.

Last month, McDonald’s shut down take-out and curbside service due to COVID-19, and currently only offers drive-thru service. Users can still place mobile orders and pick them up through the drive-thru.
