Mercedes-Benz Announces MBUX Infotainment System With Wireless CarPlay Support

Today, Mercedes-Benz announced that its new MBUX infotainment system will support wireless CarPlay in all of its 2019 A-Class vehicles.
The A-Class vehicles will be the first to add the MBUX infotainment system, but it will be added to more vehicle models throughout 2019. The new 2019 models will be shipping in Canada, the United States, Europe, the U.K., and Australia.
The car company is keeping quiet about the wireless CarPlay capabilities, but they will apparently release more info later this summer. The company is still a ways away from releasing MBUX, so there is still plenty of time for the capabilities and feature set to change before it hits the road.
Apple introduced CarPlay back in 2015 with the release of iOS 9, but support for the feature from the auto industry has been very limited since launch.

Dumb move. Heavy data consumption is too slow over BT for data intensive apps like maps.
It uses Wifi, not bluetooth.
