National Bank of Canada Now Supports Debit Cards for Apple Pay

Montreal-based National Bank of Canada has quietly updated their Apple Pay options to now support debit cards, on top of Mastercard credit cards.

National Bank of Canada launched Apple Pay in August 2017, and at the time said support for debit cards were coming. Fast forward one year later, and now it appears debit card support for Apple Pay was recently made available.

National Bank of Canada shared a new video to their YouTube channel in late July, noting  “mobile debit payment now available.” The silent debut comes as the financial institution launched a new contactless debit card back in June, to support Interac Flash.
