Siri Creators Unveil the Next-Gen AI Assistant ‘Viv’ [VIDEO]

Viv demo

Onstage at TechCrunch Disrupt NY today, co-creators of Siri Dag Kittlaus and Adam Cheyer gave the first ever public demo of their advanced AI assistant called ‘Viv’ that promises to be “the intelligent interface for everything”. According to TheNextWeb, the 20-minute demo truly amazed the audience with a real-time demonstration of its impressive capabilities, including some truly complex inquiries.

“Will it be warmer than 70-degrees near the Golden Gate Bridge after 5pm the day after tomorrow?”

Viv delivered the answer in a matter of seconds, and correctly handled numerous oddly specific questions that followed, as well as ordering flowers, sending money as payment for drinks the previous night and even booking a hotel in under 60 seconds.

Throughout the demo, the AI assistant demonstrated a profound understanding of context and intent as Kittlaus rapid-fired commands in natural language.

As you can see in the video embedded below, Kittlaus begins with simpler questions such as what the weather was like today, but then quickly evolves his demands of Viv into really complex pointed inquiries. He even called on Viv to pay a buddy $20 and all that followed was a tap of the pay button through a Venmo integration and all of a sudden his friend had been paid. Wow!

The developers explained that they want Viv to run not just on all mobile devices, but to also tackle home hardware, appliances and other gadgets with its always-listening interface. Check out the following video and share your thoughts in the comments section:
