PassHack: Use Passbook To Hide Stock iOS Apps [No Jailbreak Required]

AppAdvice has published a neat trick for iOS 6 device owners called PassHack, that allows users to utilize Passbook for hiding stock iOS apps without any jailbreak. All users need to do is add PassHack to their Passbook and begin hiding any unwanted iOS apps right away.

Follow these steps using mobile Safari on your iOS 6 device:

Step 1:

Go to www.cydiahacks.com and tap on “Get PassHack.” Then tap on “Add to Passbook”.

Step 2:

Once the pass is loaded, tap on the “Add” button in the top right corner.

Step 3:

Press home button on your iOS 6 device and launch Passbook. Next, make sure that PassHack is on the screen and tap on the “i” in the bottom right corner. The pass will flip over revealing some basic instructions and links to hide various stock iOS apps. Scroll through the apps listed on the pass and tap on a link for an app you’d like to hide.

Step 4:

Once you see an alert box pop up, tap on “Install.” The installation will fail, but that’s completely normal. When you receive the “Unable to Download Application” failure message, tap on “Done”. The app you’ve selected to hide will now have a gray icon with a loading bar.

Step 5:

Next, tap and hold on the gray icon to put it in “wiggle mode” and tap on the “X” in the top left corner of the app to remove it.

Step 6:

After you’re done with that, you can continue this process to hide as many stock apps as you’d like.

** Note: If you attempt to hide the App Store, you will not be able to continue hiding additional apps. If you do plan on hiding the App Store, make sure you hide it last.
