Possible iPhone Air Dimensions Revealed

We seem to have much more information about the forthcoming 4.7-inch iPhone 6 than the 5.5-inch version, which is rumoured to be arriving later. iPhone mockup leaks have mostly focused on the “smaller” version of the next-generation Apple handset, but sources speaking with Steve Hemmerstoffer of French site NoWhereElse have unveiled possible dimensions of the 5.5-inch model, which has often been mentioned as the iPhone Air

As you may already have read, Apple is said to be keeping the double-iPhone launch, just like last year when it introduced the colourful iPhone 5c and the high-end iPhone 5s. There are a couple of changes, though: multiple sources have heard that this year Apple will increase the iPhone’s size.

But there is a twist. There will be two new display sizes: 4.7-inch, and 5.5 or 5.7-inch, although there is little information available about the display resolution. We previously reported the iPhone 6 mockups leaked, and as we inch toward the WWDC, size information is flowing in.

According to a case manufacturer speaking with NoWhereElse, the bigger, 5.5-inch iPhone 6(s? or Air?) will have the following measurements: 157 mm long, 81 mm wide, and 7 mm thick. By comparison, the 4.7-inch model is said to measure 138 mm × 67 mm × 7 mm.

To contrast the above information, here are the measurements of a Galaxy Note 3: 151.2 mm × 79.2 mm × 8.3 mm.

Of course, there is no way to confirm or deny this data, so it has to be taken with a grain of salt, just like any other rumour.
