Quebec Extends Uber Pilot Project By Another Year

According to a new report from the Montreal Gazette, the Uber pilot project in Quebec is being extended by one year.

Originally the pilot project was scheduled to end on Sunday, but it was extended to allow the collection and analysis of information to see what kind of impact ride-sharing services have on the city and how they impact taxi transportation services.

The announcement displeased taxi drivers, who said they were not consulted at all in this decision. At the end of September, Coalition Avenir Québec’s François Legault promised to be fair to the taxi industry, but this move is far from something they see as fair.
