According to a report from The Telegraph, women are more likely to own an iPhone than men. The report suggests that men are more likely to own devices from Chinese smartphone manufacturer Huawei.
According to research conducted by GlobalWebIndex, iOS is used by approximately 16 percent of adults while Android is used by 54 percent. The study also revealed that 18 percent of women use iOS, while 17 percent of men use Apple’s mobile operating system.
“The Californian company enjoys the best engagement rates in established markets such as the USA, Australia, Japan and Canada, but has significantly lower levels in countries including Argentina, Poland and India. The report found that use of iOS increases in line with income, and that Apple performs more strongly among higher income consumers compared with Android.
Android is more widely used than iOS in all 32 territories the research covered, which GlobalWebIndex claims covers around 90 per cent of the global internet audience. Almost 70 per cent of users in China and South Korea used Android, followed closely by Hong Kong.”
The study also showed that women are more likely to purchase and use an iPad. Every one in four women own an iPad, compared to one in six women that own a tablet running Google’s Android operating system.
