New Ring Video Doorbell 3 and Ring Chime Models Launch in Canada

Ring video doorbell 3

Amazon-owned Ring has announced the debut of two new video doorbells and chimes in Canada, available for pre-order today on Amazon.ca.

Ring Video Doorbell 3 ($249.99) and Ring Video Doorbell 3 Plus ($289.99) gain new features such as adjustable motion zones, able to detect motion within 5 to 15 feet from your front door, along with enhanced dual-band 2.4GHz/5GHz Wi-Fi support.

The Ring Video Doorbell 3 Plus adds pre-roll technology, which records four seconds before motion is detected and is what the company is calling the first on a battery-operated doorbell.

“At Ring, we are continuously pushing the boundaries to bring the most innovative devices and features to our customers,” said Jamie Siminoff, Ring’s founder and Chief Inventor, in an issued statement to iPhone in Canada.

Other announcements today include new redesigned Ring Chime ($39.99) and Chime Pro ($59.99), which let users hear their doorbells inside their homes. With Chime Pro, you get a built-in nightlight and Wi-Fi extender to expand connectivity of your Ring Doorbells and Cams.

“While features similar to Pre-Roll have been available on our wired devices, we believe it is important to also offer this feature to users with a battery-powered Video Doorbell, so that no one ever misses a moment at their doorstep. With Ring Video Doorbell 3 and Ring Video Doorbell 3 Plus, we’re excited to continue bringing customers even more home security options, while keeping user privacy and control front and centre,” added Siminoff.

All four of these new products are available for pre-order today and will be released on April 28, 2020.
