SNES Games Could Be Coming Soon to Switch Online

As highlighted by Engadget, Twitter user @KapuccinoHeck has been able to dig up a bunch of references to at least 22 SNES game titles in Switch Online’s code strings suggesting they might soon be available to users of Nintendo’s online gaming subscription.

Some of the SNES titles coming to Switch Online are absolute must-haves for the fans, including Super Mario World, Super Mario Kart, Super Mario All-Stars, Legend of Zelda: Link to the Past, F-Zero, Super Metroid, and Contra 3.

Provided the list is accurate in the first place, it still leaves questions as to when these SNES games would show up. Nintendo isn’t necessarily going to release them soon, and it’s likely to dribble them out on a month-by-month basis. If nothing else, it might be an incentive to stay subscribed beyond Switch Online’s multiplayer features.

So far, Nintendo has only offered a handful of NES titles through its online subscription, which starts from $3.99 for one month, $7.99 for three months, and $19.99 for 12 months. There’s also an annual family plan for up to eight Nintendo accounts that costs $34.99.
