Sony Reveals List of Classic PlayStation Games Arriving on Revamped PlayStation Plus

Ahead of the launch of the new, revamped PlayStation Plus, Sony has revealed the list of classic games playable on the subscription service.

Sony’s new PlayStation Plus tiers are due to arrive in select regions starting in June. Moving forward, PlayStation Plus will be broken up into three tiers Essential, Extra, and Premium, providing new perks for players, including access to games across the PS1, PS2, PS3, and PSP generations. Now, Sony has pulled the curtain back on which original PlayStation, PSP, and PlayStation 3 games will be included in the service.

Access to classic PlayStation games is included in the PlayStation Plus Premium, which is priced at $21.99/monthly, $59.99/quarterly, and $139.99/annually.

Focusing on PlayStation and PSP games, Sony has revealed the following games will be available to download and play thanks to PlayStation Plus:

Sony also reveals that select original PlayStation and PSP classic games will receive a new UI with menus that allow you to save your game at any time, or even rewind the game if you want a do-over.

Note that those who have purchased the digital version of games from the original PlayStation and PSP generation will not have to make a separate purchase or sign up to PlayStation Plus to play these titles on PS4 or PS5.

Sony has also revealed titles from the PlayStation 3 generation that will be included in the service. It’s important to note that because of the PlayStation 3 architecture, these games will only be available through streaming. Each game is original and not remastered. The available list includes:

Finally, Sony has revealed the first batch of games that will see playable trials available to PlayStation Plus Premium subscribers. Players can test select games out for a maximum of two hours prior to purchasing. The clock only counts when the game is being played. Save data and Trophy progression all carry over if the player wishes to purchase the game.
