Spotify Begins Rolling Out Redesigned UI for Free Tier Users
Last week, Spotify revealed plans to revamp its free tier to give users more control over the content they see and hear. Early signs of this new redesign have been spotted on social media today.
A report from The Verge shows that some users are actually seeing the UI redesign on their iOS and Android devices. It’s still unclear as to whether or not this new design has anything to do with the plans to revamp the free tier.

A new feature called the “Gold Edition” playlist allows users to play songs from that specific playlist on demand. Albums or playlists that can only be played in shuffle mode will show a blue shuffle icon, and other playlists will show a green play button. Currently, free users are only able to shuffle through playlists and albums.
