Spotify Launches Personalized Pet Playlists in Canada

A couple of months back, Spotify introduced a Pet Playlist generator in the U.S. for creating a playlist that both you and your pet can enjoy together and now, the feature has made its debut in Canada over the weekend just in time for the National Pets Day celebrations.

According to Spotify’s global online survey, nearly 71% of pet owners play music for their pets and 8 in 10 believe their pets like music and most pet owners think music can help pets relieve stress, boost their happiness and keep them company.

Almost 50% of pet owners also say their pet prefers certain songs or genres of music, with classical and soft rock as the top picks.

“Pet Playlists is an experience where Spotify users can get an algorithmically curated playlist based on their tastes and their pet’s character attributes. Each Pet Playlist includes approx. 30 tracks based on the listener’s preferences, and that their pet may enjoy. For example, an energetic dog might get a playlist with tracks that are upbeat while a shy cat might get something with slower tempos.”
