Starbucks Foursquare Check-Ins From June 1-10 Will Donate $1 to (RED)

Looks like all of those check-ins on Foursquare are about to pay off–towards charity. Starting from June 1-10 (today!), Starbucks will donate $1 towards the new campaign (RED)Rush to Zero, towards the fight against AIDS, every time you check in at a Canadian or U.S. location.

Foursquare announced the details on their blog yesterday:

The (RED)Rush to Zero campaign is an initiative to raise funding and awareness to help end the transmission of HIV from moms to their babies by 2015. Every day 1,000 babies are born with HIV. By 2015, we believe that number can get close to zero. It’s a huge milestone in the fight against AIDS.

From June 1 – 10, Starbucks will donate $1 when you check in to any Starbucks in the US or Canada, up to $250,000! (RED) partners Bugaboo and Penfolds will also make donations for checking in at places like Bugaboo Stores, Peppermint, LTD., Rabasa, and Bonefish Grill.

All check ins will unlock the (RED)Rush to Zero badge, along with your $1 donation towards the global fight against AIDS, Tuberculosis and Malaria. Last time we checked, Foursquare had 20 million users as of mid-April. If everybody checked into a Starbucks at least once or twice…
