Timer: The Ultimate One-Tap Timer [Review]

Time, there’s never enough of it, and what we do have gets harder to manage with each passing day.

With dozens of timer apps in the App Store, it’s amazing that they all do the roughly the same thing. You set a time limit, the time passes, and an alarm triggers when time runs out. Simple stuff, and effective, provided you’re only timing one thing.

But what about when you need to keep track of multiple timers at once? How do you manage at your Canada Day BBQ when you’re grilling pork chops, sausages, shrimp and steaks to 3 different temperatures, all at the same time?

That’s where Timer comes in handy.

Developed by David Barnard at App Cubby, Timer easily performs the simple yet complex task of running multiple independent timers simultaneously, saving you from mental strain and constant glances at your watch.

With a clean and simple interface, Timer provides you with 12 fully customizable independent timers. The large colorful buttons can be activated independently, and you can customize the settings (Time, Color, Preset, & Alert Tone) of all 12 as desired.

Using the app couldn’t be simpler. Tap to start, tap to stop, tap and hold to customize. When your timer expires the app will alert you with an audible alarm and notifications on-screen.

Even better, if your timer runs past the limit, Timer shows you how long it’s been since the timer expired so that you can adjust accordingly

Timer also integrates with Launch Center Pro for those who are Action oriented.

I’ve been using Timer since it was released and have found it to be an invaluable addition to my iPhone app collection. I spoke with David at App Cubby who tells me v1.1 is coming shortly with new user requested features and updates. So, before your next big family BBQ, grab a copy of Timer. You’ll be glad you did.

Timer is available for iPhone and costs $0.99 on the App Store.
