Two New Upcoming iPad Model Numbers Spotted on BIS Website

As spotted by the folks over at MySmartPrice, two new upcoming iPad models have just received Bureau of Indian Standards (BIS) certification. The two model numbers that have appeared on the BIS website are A2124 and A2133, both of which were spotted last month in the Eurasian Economic Commission (EEC) filings as well.

The source notes that it is not yet known whether the A2124 and A2133 are variants of a single iPad model or if they are two different upcoming iPad models. The newly granted BIS certification also does not offer any important information except for the fact that the two models will be manufactured by China’s Hongfujin Precision Electronics.

Analyst Ming-Chi Kuo has also hinted in a recent note to investors that Apple may release a total of four new iPad models this year, including two new iPad Pro models, a new 10.2-inch iPad, and iPad mini 5. The analyst has also suggested that all of them will feature upgraded processors.

While Apple is strongly expected to unveil its long-rumoured news subscription service at next month’s media event, any announcement of new iPad models remains unlikely.
