Apple had its big day yesterday, announcing its new iPhones along with a few more products such as the new Apple TV 4K and Apple Watch Series 3. Today, however, the company silently released the newest version of its urBeats earphones, the urBeats3.
According to Apple’s product website, the earbuds feature a “fine-tuned acoustic design” with an axial-aligned driver along with secure-fit wingtips and magnetic earbuds.
“This means that no matter what music you’re playing you’ll get optimised sound output,” reads the site. “Laser precision venting provides micro-pressure balanced bass, while dual-chamber acoustics deliver synchronised sound and natural tonality across all types of music.”
The headphones also feature a RemoteTalk button to call up Siri, receive calls, and control music. “Take calls with a built-in mic, control your music, and even activate Siri all with the push of a button. And when you’re not wearing them, the tangle-free flat cable and magnetic ear buds easily coil up in a carrying case for compact portability.”
The new urBeats model features an all-color design, coming in three colors: Matte Silver, Matte Gold, and Black. The earphones have also been ever-so-slightly redesigned, featuring a smoother housing and somewhat tilted earbuds.
“Designed for your life, urBeats3 wired earphones feature an optimal ergonomic fit that combines sleek style with iconic Beats sound for all-day wear,” reads the product site. “A variety of ear tip options provide individualised fit for noise isolation while optional secure-fit wingtips provide confidence and added stability during activity.”
For those of us with phones that still have an audio jack (yes, some of us still want wired headphones), the earbuds also come in a 3.5mm audio plug model – available in color options such as Gray, White, Blue, and Black – in addition to the Lightning model.
Both the Lightning and 3.5mm plug models are priced at $119.95 CAD, and will be available for purchase sometime this fall.
