Western Digital Updates WD SmartWare To Fix Mavericks Data Loss

Following the reports coming out last month regarding users experiencing data loss when connecting external hard drives to Macs with OS X Mavericks installed, Western Digital has just released an updated version of its WD SmartWare hard drive software, addressing the data loss issue, MacRumors is reporting.

Western Digital had previously warned its customers in an email, about using its WD Drive Manager, WD Raid Manager, and WD SmartWare software products with Mavericks and had suggested customers should uninstall those applications before upgrading to Mavericks. Now, the company has finally pushed the updated WD SmartWare version 1.3.6 for all Mac OS X users (10.5-10.9).

*Please note that if you have a previous version of WD Drive Manager installed on your computer, this software package will automatically uninstall the old version and install a new version.
