The email reads, “we’re working on bringing the Wealthsimple Trade experience to desktop and want feedback from users like you! All you have to do to try it is go to Wealthsimple.com and log in with your email and password.”

Wealthsimple explains only some features from the mobile app are currently available in this desktop beta test, but more features are coming soon.

Wealthsimple Trade launched back in 2018 and offers unlimited stock trading with $0 commission, available for various U.S. and Canadian stocks, plus exchange-traded funds (ETFs). It’s essentially the Canadian version of the popular trading app Robinhood in the U.S., but in Canadian funds only for now.

Back in the spring, Wealthsimple launched Dark Mode for its iOS app.

Earlier this month, a new funding round raised $114 million (US$87 million) from Silicon Valley investors for Wealthsimple, pushing the company’s valuation to “unicorn” status, worth $1 billion USD. The Toronto-based company has roughly $8.4 billion in assets and 1.5 million users.
