Winnipeg ‘Peeping Tom’ Convicted in Tire Shop iPhone Voyeurism Case

In a bizarre and creepy case in Winnipeg, a man has been convicted of voyeurism after it was discovered he had planted an iPhone in the washroom of a Fountain Tire location on Warman Road. Arcel Gagnon was a commercial tire tech at the time and last April a customer stumbled upon an iPhone recording video in the shop’s public washroom.

After the customer complained, Fountain Tire VP of marketing, Nelson Tonn noted the company contacted the authorities right away, and Gagnon fired shortly soon after the discovery:

“We’re disgusted by this incident, and we want to assure our customers that we dealt with the situation swiftly,”

[…]

“Arcel was immediately suspended, and we contacted the RCMP immediately,”

As for Gagnon, his conviction resulted in a two-year suspended sentence. Note to self: watch out for hidden iPhones when out in public.
