Apple Announces June 3-7 Dates for WWDC 2019 in San Jose, California

Apple has confirmed that its annual developer’s conference — the Worldwide Developer’s Conference, or WWDC — will be held from June 3 to June 7, 2019, in San Jose, California.

That’s according to a new press release from the Cupertino company, which explains that WWDC will return to the McEnery Convention Center in San Jose for the third year in a row. The convention centre is just a short distance from Apple’s world headquarters, Apple Park, in Cupertino, California.

At this year’s WWDC, one can expect the usual: iOS 13, macOS 10.15, watchOS 6, and tvOS 13. Apple’s tagline for the event is “Write code. Blow minds.”

“WWDC is Apple’s biggest event of the year,” said Phil Schiller, Apple’s senior vice president of Worldwide Marketing. “It brings thousands of the most creative and dedicated developers from around the world together with over a thousand Apple engineers to learn about our latest platform innovations and to connect as a community. Our developers are incredibly passionate about creating the next generation of mind-blowing experiences for the world through apps. We can’t wait to get together with them and share what’s next.”

The keynote is usually live-streamed around the world, but any developers interested in attending the full conference in person can apply for the opportunity to purchase a $1599 USD ticket, as long as they are a member of the Apple Developer Program or the Apple Developer Enterprise Program. Winners of the ticket lottery are chosen randomly, but all submissions must be in by March 20th.

Developers who aren’t chosen to attend the conference (and anyone else, for that matter) will be able to live stream it through the Apple Developer website or the dedicated WWDC app for iPhone, iPad, and Apple TV.

Recent rumours from Bloomberg have cited iOS 13 set to be introduced at WWDC will finally include a system-wide dark mode.
