Since I live in Vancouver a lot of my posts have been through the eyes of a Vancouverite. However, I know there are a lot of people reading this blog from coast to coast. So this next app review will be sure to please my fellow Torontonians who take the TTC.
Red Rocket Brings the TTC to the iPhone
Red Rocket was released recently in the App Store. What is it? Essentially it’s similar to the Translink iPhone website but on steroids. The Red Rocket application has a full map of the TTC lines, bus routes, departure times, and more. It takes advantage of your GPS location to help you determine the nearest stop by meters and kilometers. There’s also information on how to contact the TTC via email or phone.

Here’s where the Red Rocket TTC app shines. The database is downloaded onto your iPhone (just over 60MB), so that means for those without a data plan (or using an iPod Touch) this information is at your fingertips wherever you go! Of course the downside is that it takes up some space on your iPhone, but having all that info on your device does make it load much faster.
