If you know someone who works for Shaw and has some Friends and Family codes to dole out for Freedom Mobile, the latter has lowered the minimum monthly plan to use these discount codes.
Previously, one-time use Freedom Mobile Friends and Family codes would require a minimum plan of $65 per month. The discount code would take off $15 per month, while an autopay discount of $5 would take it down to $45 per month, with 10GB of data (taking the $65/10GB plan as an example).
But now, it appears Freedom Mobile has lowered the minimum monthly plan requirement for Friends and Family codes, according to RFD.
You can now jump on a $60/6GB BYOD plan, but after the $15 Friends and Family discount and $5 autopay discount, it goes down to $40/6GB per month. If you don’t use more than 6GB of data and are interested in saving $5/month instead ($60 per year), this new option might be for you.
Update Feb. 20/2020: A Freedom Mobile spokesperson reached out to iPhone in Canada and said, “There’s no Friends and Family offer in market right now,” adding no changes have been made to the Friends and Family program. The information in the RFD thread is also incorrect.
