Yesterday we told you about how Shaw was sending out one-time use promo codes for friends and family, offering a $15 per month savings on Freedom Mobile’s Big Gig plans.
If you don’t know anyone that works for Shaw or Corus, you can actually get the discount at Loblaws’ The Mobile Shop in the Greater Toronto Area (GTA).
According to RFD, members have been able to successfully sign up as new Freedom Mobile customers at various The Mobile Shop locations, getting the same $15 off per month discount as per the friends and family savings.
iPhone in Canada was able to independently confirm the promo is indeed live, as The Mobile Shop we spoke with located at 17 Leslie Street in Toronto did say the discount was available. One other store we called (396 St. Clair Ave West) said on the phone the promo wasn’t available there.
Others on RFD have been able to get this at a location in Mississauga, plus a location in Dundas Square in Toronto.
Freedom Mobile is currently offering an Absolute $0 promo, offering a free iPhone XR tab, as long as you sign up with a $75/15GB plan. After the friends and family discount, you’ll be paying $60/15GB over 24 months, with a free iPhone XR worth $1,029.
The Mobile Shop locations in B.C. said the $15 discount they were able to offer on Big Gig plans expired yesterday, but may come back for the weekend. So stay tuned for any return of this out west.
Again, picking up an iPhone XR for $0 upfront and on a $60/15GB plan is a pretty good deal, if you have Freedom Mobile coverage in your area. Let us know what you end up doing.
