Shaw Mobile Can Now Mail You a SIM Card; eSIM Also Available

Shaw Mobile launched last summer, offering wireless plan promotions for existing Shaw internet customers.

Existing Shaw internet customers can get up to 6 free unlimited talk and text lines, which can be great for kids or home phone lines on your spare smartphone lying around.

At the time, these free talk and text lines required a customer to visit a Shaw store to get a physical SIM card, not a good idea during the COVID-19 pandemic. The company also said eSIM would debut by the end of the year. Now, we have an update on Shaw Mobile’s offerings.

The company recently started offering the choice of mailing out SIM cards to customers looking to set up a bring your own phone line, iPhone in Canada has learned.

According to Shaw’s website, the company says “At this time, SIM cards mailed to your address can only be activated by contacting us directly using call or chat instructions included with the delivery.”

Shaw Mobile also launched support for eSIM a while back, allowing users to switch from a physical SIM card to digital SIM. Users can get started by heading to my.ShawMobile.ca. The company said last year it planned to support eSIM by the end of 2020.

The following smartphones are being supported for eSIM by Shaw Mobile:

  • Apple iPhone XS / XS Max
  • Apple iPhone XR
  • Apple iPhone 11 / 11 Pro / 11 Pro Max
  • Apple iPhone 12 / 12 Mini / 12 Pro / 12 Pro Max
  • Apple iPhone SE (2020)
  • Google Pixel 3a
  • Google Pixel 4 / 4 XL / 4a
  • Google Pixel 5
  • Motorola RAZR (eSIM only)

For Shaw Fibre+ internet customers, they can get access to a promo $25/25GB plan, instead of the usual $45/25GB pricing.
