Managers at Apple's retail stores delivered prepared messages from corporate to workers and used the state of the unionized Towson store as a cautionary tale

Apple is offering free two-hour delivery in select areas of the U.S., Canada, France, Spain, and the UK, for orders placed through its online store.

According to a ruling from the National Labor Relations Board (NLRB), Apple deployed illegal means to suppress unionization in Atlanta.

After an Apple Store in Towson, Maryland, became the first in the U.S. to unionize back in June, more retail locations are looking to follow suit

Of some 110 eligible employees, 65 voted in favour of joining the International Association of Machinists and Aerospace Workers, and 33 against. 

"Apple’s repeated violations of the National Labor Relations Act have made a free and fair election impossible," said the Communications Workers of America.

Hourly pay for Apple employees in the U.S. will now start at $22 USD per hour, and base salaries are expected to increase as well.

In a video to staff, she told employees the effort could slow workplace progress.

The pop-ups are designed to represent and promote Apple TV+ shows, complete with show-related props and food served in themed utensils.

The script says unionization could result in "fewer opportunities" and reduced "flexibility" for workers and force Apple to pay "less attention to merit."

"We are fortunate to have incredible retail team members and we deeply value everything they bring to Apple," the company said in response.
