iOS 13 Public Beta 4 Causing Apple Watch Battery Drain for Some Testers

Apple beta software program 2019

If your Apple Watch battery is draining faster than normal, and you’re an iOS 13 Public Beta tester, the latter may be the cause.

According to some users on Reddit, they’re noting iOS 13 Public Beta 4, the latest release (equivalent to iOS 13 beta 5 for developers), is causing major battery drain on Apple Watches, with what appears to be targeting mainly Series 4 models.

“The latest Public Beta is a huge battery drainer for your watch. If you value the use of your Apple Watch during the whole day, you shouldn’t update your iPhone. I can barely get 5 hours of battery life right now and it’s kinda annoying,” says user ‘cega9110’.

While the issue is not affecting all users, many are noting their Apple Watch battery life only lasts about 8 hours or so, instead of lasting a full day and more.

Apple’s Beta Software Program is free for users to test early releases iOS, iPadOS, macOS, and tvOS, but should only be installed on secondary devices, since betas usually come with bugs.

Are you experiencing any battery drain issues on iOS 13 Public Beta 4 and your Apple Watch?
