Should you buy an iPhone 3G? Check this out…

Our fellow iPhoneinCanada.ca reader and top designer/illustrator Pierre Tabbiner created this little “image” for people who are trying to hold themselves off from buying an iPhone 3G. I was going to post it a while back but totally forgot.

Anyways, if anyone is desperate enough to have this as their wallpaper to remind themselves, you can download all three (1280×800, 1920×1200, 1680×1050) from here. Here’s a sneak peek:

    I thought this post was HILARIOUS!!!! Well, the wallpapers at least. I would certainly hope people would see the humour in the whole situation, but evidently some took it to heart. “Why so serious?”
    Anyways, I REALLY do need the posters – and so do a couple of my friends, as we do not want the proverbial ball & chain around our ankles when comes time to jump ship i.e when a new national GSM network pops up in Canada, and I can move my beautiful mint condition, battery/Installer-friendly 1st gen to said network. Until then, I can only sigh, salivate a little every time I see a 3G, and look at the wonderful reminder (aka wallpaper) of why I refuse to get ripped off. And yes, it is a conscious choice, I’m not being “cheap”.

    I am very eager to get an iPhone, but I just don’t know whether the data plans offered by Rogers/Fido are sufficient. What do most people think of the existing data plans?

    The 6 gigs/30$ plan is more than enough for my usage.

    It’s 200mo each day and I need to watch a lot of youtube video and spend a lot of time using the datato get close to this 200mo.

    The average week of usage show around 40-60mo daily. I reached 145mo in a single day when I got the phone.

    If 200mo a day is not enough, you have way way too much time to spare.

    Same here…
    I went to purchase the iphone 3G but was “seriously” discouraged by the rep when he said that Fido could only block EDGE but they couldn’t do anything about 3G. He also mentionned that if i chose to go without their 30$/plan, I’m risking to get some expensive surprises!! He mentionned that Fido charges some 5 cent/kb anytime you use the net… so a regular google page would cost you an arm and a leg.
    See;
    the 2nd generation of iphones has 3 tools that could connect you to the net..
    1-EDGE..2-3G..3-WIFI. (1st generation only had EDGE and WIFI)
    Apperently, Fido can turn EGDE off but if you connect to the net by WIFI and somehow, you get disconnected, 3G automatically kicks in and and this is where it all goes bad.
    After my 30 minute chit chat with the rep, i went to a Rogers store and asked the same questions, THE ANSWERS WERE THA SAME.
    So i settled for the Motorola Z6w witch I HATE WITH PASSION…. it is my first motorola and i really can’t deal with it for many reasons. My last phone was an iphone 1st Gen… and i loved it. But somehow, a part of the screen stopped working. I was told that it was the digitizer and that it costs some like 200$ to fix… $#@& it…
