Apple Holding “Back To Mac” Event On October 20th

Some have criticized Apple for leaving OS X behind while rapidly improving iOS over these past few years. But not to fear, Apple is going “Back To Mac” with a press event one week from now.

I wouldn’t be totally surprised if we see something regarding the iOS platform but this is very likely going to be all about the Mac. Software is gonna be key, showcasing 10.7 maybe? Some new hardware like a new Macbook Air that’s desperately in need of a refresh? We’ll find out soon enough.

It all happens at 10AM PT on October 20th. No word on a live stream yet. If that’s not your thing, there’s lots of live blogs to follow on the internet and I’ll be sharing my thoughts on everything that happens live via twitter!

Based on the pic it’s pretty obvious that this will be about a new Mac OSX release with “Lion” in the codename.

  • you bet! feels like a bigger leap than before, should be exciting.

  • Demosthenesx

Someone on Gizmodo suggested the new release be called OSX 10.7 “Simba”. I sincerely hope this is the case. 😀

Here’s to hoping they call it 10.7 Leo…and not Lion!

Im betting on FaceTime for Mac…

  • I hope they stream it live again. This should be exciting. Two days after their earnings call, you know they’re going to push their big financial numbers. Apple wins again.

  • Nice sounds cool. Yes I certainly hope living streaming is available again. Facetime on the Mac to iphone? It just seems logical and look at the pic! They are sooo going to be talking about os 10.7! codenamed “Lion King” lol!

  • OS 4 for iPad announce date, anyone? *crossing fingers*
