Just Mobile Xtand Pro™ + Alupad™ [REVIEW]

Last month, we reviewed Just Mobile’s two iconic accessories, the AluPen™ stylus and the Encore™ iPad stand. Today, we’ll look at a couple more sleek and stylish design objects from the same company, the Xtand Pro™ desktop stand for laptops and the Alupad™ mouse pad. Let’s see how these two pair up with a 15″ Retina MacBook Pro, Apple keyboard and Magic mouse.

Just Mobile’s Alupad™ is nothing like your everyday foam or gel variety mouse pads. It is rather an elegantly designed product that truly compliments Apple’s line of sleek peripherals. Made up of signature anodized aluminum and wrapped in high quality white plastic, it makes for a perfect companion to Apple’s signature Magic mouse and aluminum keyboard.

It measure 10.4 x 8.2 inches in size and boasts a nice little heft due to its solid aluminum construction. At the bottom, you’ll find non-slip rubber feet that keep the Alupad™ in place. Using the pad with Apple’s mouse is a pleasant experience with no interference from the white plastic whatsoever. I doubt one can find a better mousing surface than this one in the market, especially for a Mac setup.

Moving on to the Xtand Pro™, it is a stylish desktop stand designed to lift your laptop display to an ergonomic eye level. Compatible with any MacBook or PC laptop up to 17″ in size, this classy stand is a great option for those who are tired of hunching over a notebook at their desk.

Installing the Xtand Pro™ is fairly simple, instructions of which are printed on the underside of the top lid of the box. The stand has two adjustable heights, determined by the silver tube used during the assembly (one measures 2 inches other is 6 inches). You can keep it low if you want to use your laptop’s keyboard and trackpad, and high if you’re using external keyboard or mouse. Rubber stoppers on each corner of the stand and two fold up tabs at the front hold the MacBook Pro securely in place.

Just Mobile has added another nice touch to the stand by providing a grooved pen holder at the base. You can use it place a ballpoint pen or a stylus like the AluPen™ or AluPen Pro™. The Xtand Pro™ also allows air to circulate under your MacBook, allowing for a cooler and quieter function.
