Subaru Canada to Debut iPhone Integration within Pioneer Navigation System for 2012

The 2012 line of select Subaru models such as the Legacy, Outback, Forester, and WRX STI will soon have more ways to stay connected to your iPhone.

Subaru will introduce a Pioneer navigation system to connect to the Aha Radio iPhone app to allow users to check out Facebook, twitter, Yelp, traffic, access podcasts, find restaurants and more. The new in-dash system will have 4GB of internal memory, a 3D graphics, DVD capabilities, Bluetooth, USB iPhone/iPod connectivity, and a microSD slot. A three month trial to Sirius satellite radio will also be included.

One nifty feature called App Mode will enable video from Safari, YouTube and other videos be displayed right on the 6.1 inch WVGA touch screen. This feature can only be engaged when the parking brake is on though (for obvious safety reasons). It’s good to see automobile manufacturers embracing iOS devices within their vehicles, like this cool Mercedes Benz iPhone interface.
