ivySkin iPhone 3G XyloT3 Touch-Thru Case Review/CONTEST!

We’re back with another accessory review here folks. With hundreds of accessories out there on the market for your iPhone 3G obsessed needs, we’re here to help. Today we’re going to take a look at a hard plastic case from ivySkin, the newly updated XyloT3!

What Kind of Case is This?

The Xylo Touch-Thru (T3) case by ivySkin is a German-designed hard screen shell made of top grade polycarbonate crystal material that covers the entire iPhone 3G unit. What makes this case interesting is the fact that the hard case over the screen does not affect the touch sensor in any way. In what ivySkin calls “Surface Xylo Wave (SXW)” technology (I know, what a name!), it allows ultrasonic waves to pass through the case onto the iPhone’s screen–enabling you to stay addicted to your iPhone while protecting it completely.

I had the chance to try the ivySkin XyloT3 on one of my iPhone 3G units prior to installing the invisibleSHIELD. At the time I forgot to snap pictures but the case fits the iPhone pretty snug. If you have the invisibleSHIELD installed you won’t be able to install this case over top. I was quite impressed that the touch capabilities on my iPhone 3G were not impeded even though there was this hard case over the screen. Pretty neat stuff if you’re in the market for a hard case that will allow you to still use your iPhone 3G!

The benefits of this ivySkin XyloT3 Touch Thru case is that it’s a complete hard case that will protect your iPhone without hiding its design unlike silicone cases. Also, the touchscreen is not affected in any way which is a huge bonus, considering plastic is covering the entire iPhone 3G screen. The XyloT3 is available in clear, black, or white. At $34.99 I must admit this case is definitely priced higher than normal, but if you’re in the market for a decent hard shell case that doesn’t affect your touchscreen, this could very well be the case for you!

    I don’t know if it helps, but I have the griffin car charger. Got it for $25. Works perfectly! Only downside is the cord is really short.

    I realize it’s not a combo. Do you have an AUX jack? You can buy a cable for $4 on eBay. Sound quality is so much better.

    Oh boy, I really like the look of this case. It looks like it will give my current case a run for it’s money. So that said, now I’ve gotta become a poet! :-)

    My poem is called “Skin Deep”

    This may not be news to those of you
    Who own an iPhone 3G,
    But I can’t express the feelings I get
    When mine is close to me.

    It breaks my heart if ever I see
    A scratch upon it’s case,
    I need protection that will allow me to
    Put it through it’s pace.

    My current case is not too bad
    But it doesn’t let me see.
    It hides the shape, the shine and the curves
    Of my beautiful, lovely 3G.

    So tonight I will dream with my phone by my side
    Of putting on the ivySkin
    This beautiful case that allows me to see,
    My 3G and the beauty within!

    I’ve gotta stop now and go be with my 3G. My poem has brought me even closer to a deeper love for my 3G!!! :-D

    I think I have to have this case. I can never get my iphone out of my pocket fast enough without bringing up the whole pocket because I have a silicone case on it. And I need something that shows off the cool factor of the white iphone. please please please.

Very beautiful glossy site and promise lifetime guarantee,14 days refund.No such luck!!Don’t believed me try calling their #,leave messages and forget them calling back (i left 4 messages in 3 days and email,no respond)I’ve been shopping in web for 1 and half months since i got the iphone 3g and as far as Hong Kong,by far this is the worse customer-support i ever come across.As for my Ivyskin xylo 3t i hope i will get it.Be smart don’t buy it yet until i get mine and i will keep you posted if they ever send it to me.$34.95!!!!

    with my one true and treasured gift.
    And all is well
    most of the time
    except if there’s a slip.
    Silicon, rubber
    and cloth won’t do
    nor will an impostor.
    For there’s no protection

    and my way of life is damaged,

    of being wrapped around its body.
    From then on out,

    Wow! You’ve got a lot to learn about what you can and can’t do with the iPhone 3G! Maybe a lot of this stuff doesn’t come on the phone initially, but the beauty of it is that there are many, many 3rd party apps that handle a lot of your items and the beauty of it is there are CHOICES! We’re not stuck with whatever Apple would have decided to put on the phone. Example… camera enhancement apps, FM radio apps, document editor apps, etc… Spend a few hours one day on App Store. You’ll be amazed at what you find. :-D
