Lately a lot of you have taken the plunge to either 1.1.3 or 1.1.4 firmware, thanks to my post on how to upgrade from 1.1.1 to 1.1.4 with ZiPhone 2.5c. Anyways, ever since daylight savings time hit and prior to that, some people have run into a problem with their SMS timestamps. The time is a few hours behind and does not show up properly. How to fix this problem? Read on!

The following solution was posted by user LDN2012 on HowardForums. It has worked successfully for users who tried it out so I’m going to pass this along to you fine folks (especially those who have been emailing me asking about a fix!).

How to Fix the iPhone Incorrect Timestamp Issue on 1.1.3 and 1.1.4 firmware

  1. Launch Installer. Click on Sources. Click Edit. Click Add.
  2. Type in http://www.iphones.ru/r …click OK. Refresh Sources.
  3. Click on the Install tab. Go to the category iPhone.RU.
  4. Install the SMS Timefix (the description is not in English, but it will work!)
  5. Reply back here to let us know if it worked or not. :)

Again, you are on your own whenever you’re trying these fixes and such, since the Source URL is from an untrusted source. However, users on this thread have had success, so it looks pretty positive that it will fix your SMS timestamp issue. Let us know if it works! =)

I would also like to hear if this works for anyone. I don’t SMS very much, so haven’t noticed if I am experiencing the problem or not.

Works perfectly. Saw it yesterday morning and installed. No problems all day and I text about 100x per.

I think I’ll try this, although I don’t pay much attention to the timestamps in my texts. However I have a much more annoying problem. My clock is one hour slow. I’ve set the time zone to my city (Calgary), selected Set Automatically, and used the phone (call out, call phone, wireless) but it won’t reset to the correct time. Anyone have any ideas? It was working fine until I inadvertently powered the phone down with the sleep/wake button. Running 1.1.3

I have the same problem here in Vancouver. I just changed “Set Automatically” to OFF and changed the time myself. I think this is a Rogers problem for lots of people, not just the iPhone, according to other forums.

I second that.. just turn the Set Automatically option OFF. Mine went back to correct time when I changed that.

i added this application and received a text msg right away. when i replied to it the sending message bar did not complete and i had to turn off my phone. i dont know if it is the program or if i am having bad luck with sources. i immediately deleted it and the the msg bar changed to error sending msg and allowed me to text again.(without the program)

actually i don’t think you should install it. when someone sends me an SMS and i don’t have a conversation with them already started, you can’t see the SMS message, it deletes or isn’t visible once you go into your messages. so you only see the preview and that’s it. that’s my experience and i’m running 1.1.3.

how can i remove this and fix any errors? i uninstalled it but what else can i do to remove it completely, like any preference files or anything.

I just installed this to fix my own SMS timestamp woes…so far so good. To uninstall, just go through Installer again.

I have this same problem with my 1.1.1 phone, how do I fix it? I installed an sms patch a while back that gave me voicemail notification, etc, but the timestamp issue recently appeared, im with rogers in Edmonton. Im not into taking the risk of updating my phone firmware as the phone works great otherwise..
