Apple.ca iPhone 4 Orders Have Started Shipping

While waiting in line overnight for the iPhone 4 on launch day, Apple.ca quietly updated their website to allow the option to order unlocked iPhone models for Canadians. The only downside? Orders would start shipping in three (long) weeks!

Apple iPhone 4 Orders Have Started Shipping in Canada

Just like the Apple iPhone 4 Case Program, Bumpers have already shipped and have arrived earlier than expected. This has also applied to the iPhone 4. Given the extreme shortage at the moment, it looks like ordering online for an unlocked unit is probably your best bet for securing yourself an iPhone 4.

    How could it be non-performance on Apple’s part? The store clearly showed ships in 3 weeks when you ordered it. So they have an automated system that sends out a questionnaire x number of days after your order is placed – not a great system, should be after shipment, but how is this non-performance?

    Just went to the Rogers store to pick up a microsim card. It only cost $11.00

    I heard Apple stores have them for free, for each carrier, will check over the weekend and confirm.

    I guess it looks like it won’t be delivered today then. Also, I noticed that on the fedex tracking page they’ve removed the estimated shipping date.

    I tried to get a 32GB Iphone 4 at every Telus retailer around me, and could not find anything. Seems stock was very very limited, wait lists are huge, and phones are coming in drips and drabs (if any at all). Finally ordered online through Apple on the 15th of August. Late, I know :(
    Anyone else order this day? And any chance of early shipping? The apple site shows Estimated Ship Date of Sept 7.
    I cant wait to get rid of my Blackberry!!!

    ordered 16gb from apple store on Aug 2. says it should be here by aug 25. original shipdate was 23rd and arrival on 27th.

    I’m in the Toronto area, and they report having my package in Mississauga last niight at 5 PM. Apparently, It didn’t jump on a truck this morning. Apple has to be responsible for their choice of couriers, when I’m paying for expedited delivery.

    Wow that Yahoo Fedex Tracker that Drizzx recommended works way better than FedEx’s own site! My phones literally got into the Mississauga Ramp 30mins ago! Looks like my Iphone cherry will get popped Monday morning afterall! ;)

    fedex sucks…i was waiting around at home today because the estimated delivery date was today and now I checked the tracking and that date is gone.

    Received mine today and got a micro-SIM adaptor from Pacific Mall and they cut my Rogers SIM card to fit using the familiar SIM cutter – all for $5 or $8, depending on the type of adaptor. I got the $8 one because it doesn’t need a sticker to hold the card.

    But… the firmware is already 4.0.2!!! Is there anything I can do to jailbreak this? I want to run MyWi.

    Well I don’t know about Neal, but I live in Nova Scotia and their isn’t an Apple Store here. So unless they are sending them with the iPhone 4 then I will have to cut it too.

    I ordered mine on 30th July and i got email yesterday that it has been shipped from Shenzhen, China yesterday and it will be delivered on 27th. Interesting 2 phones coming on different shipment as I have 2 different tracking numbers.

    My iPhone 4 shipped today !! Ordered online on Aug. 5th. It shipped 5 days ahead of the original schedule….I guess Apple has better inventory.

    I ordered mine on the July 30th right after arriving home with my new phone. It said 4-6 week delivery but I have just received a shipped e-mail that says it should be here on the 23rd. This kind of makes up for having to order one in the first place, I thought they should have been given away at time of purchase.

    I assume it was 4.0.1 because as soon as I plugged it into the computer it did an update.

    The fact of the matter is that UNLESS YOU ARE WILLING TO STAND OUTSIDE AN APPLE STORE all night, your chances of getting an iPhone 4 are zero to none.

    Telus is taking $50 deposits and both Telus and Bell (same company) are advertising on tv and in print. WHAT FOR? If I were a Telus or Bell customer, I’d sue for false advertising because they are “selling” an product that is NOT AVAILABLE.

    Yes, I’m pissed. Because a product that SHOULD have been readily available, is ONLY available to people who have time to stand in line for hours on end.

    Who has bought the iPhone 4 in Toronto because I haven’t seen ANYONE using one??? I’d like to hear from someone who actually bought one for PERSONAL use.

    Simple answer is to order it online through the apple store (and wait ~3weeks) unless you want one subsidized by a carrier. Also, I’m not sure how taking a $50 is false advertising, the way I see it is that it is no different than how places take preorders for games.

    Anyways, best of luck in your iphone search.
