French Designer Starck Confirms He Is Working on Steve Jobs’ Yacht

Earlier we heard rumours of French designer Philippe Starck working on a ‘revolutionary’ project with Apple, which the company denied. Starck has now confirmed to the WSJ (as noted by App Advice) he is indeed working on the yacht project he started with Steve Jobs, but it is being continued by his wife Laurene:

A spokeswoman for Starck confirmed that the project involves a yacht that’s being designed for Steve Jobs’ family.

“It’s not a project with Apple. It’s a private project that began with Steve Jobs and that has been taken over by his wife.”

Starck had this to say in an interview with a French radio station:

“We liked to talk about interesting things. We were working on a big project that will come out in eight months.,” he said, adding that he’s going to see Jobs’ widow in California Monday. “It’ll be quite revolutionary, if not very revolutionary,” Mr. Starck said, adding that he couldn’t say more about it because of Apple’s “almost religious cult of secrecy.”

It will be interesting to see the final design of the yacht. It’ll probably be covered in multi-touch.
