Google Assistant Gets Handy New Visual Snapshot Feature

Google is rolling out a new feature for its Assistant this week called the Visual Snapshots, that lets you stay on top of your day by displaying an instant update of travel times, reservations, deliveries, and other useful tidbits based on the time of day. The feature will be available on both iOS and Android devices in all supported languages.

When you open the Google Assistant app on your phone, you will receive proactive suggestions and personalized information based on time, location, and your recent interactions with the Assistant. On top are the travel times so you know when to hit the road. As you scroll down, you’ll see your agenda, reminders, upcoming bills, packages in transit, and much more.

For iOS users, personal updates are shown as soon as they open the Google Assistant app. Android users need to tap on the new icon in the top right corner of the screen after they’ve activated their Google Assistant.

We’ll continue to add more useful features to your snapshot over time—for example, an overview of your notes and lists from Google Keep, Any.do, Bring!, Todoist and others.

The Google Assistant can also send proactive notifications on your phone to remind you of important upcoming events. You can get notifications for upcoming bills, packages, even an alert that your flight has been delayed—your Google Assistant will keep track so you don’t have to.

You can try out the new visual snapshot feature right now on your iOS and Android devices.
