DanTeb Charging Stations Aim to Keep your iPhone Alive in Toronto

If your iPhone battery is running low during the day then you might want to keep an eye out for DanTeb charging stations. The smartphone charging stations were created by the daughter-father duo, Laura and Harvey Miller. Their startup has signed deals to implement stations within major malls in Toronto plus the underground PATH pedestrian tunnels.

Unlike conventional charging stations you see at airports, the DanTeb comes supplied with a dozen cables to support major smartphones such as the iPhone. Early trials helped finalize the decision to supply six microUSB cables, three Apple 30-pin connectors and three Lighting cables, with the purpose of providing 10-15 minute charges.

The stations are supported by advertising and also offer free Wi-Fi and also have NFC coupon offers for customers while they wait for devices to be charged. So far deals have been inked with big brands such as Metro, TELUS and Rogers.

Below are a couple pictures of DanTeb charging stations–as you can see they can be skinned and branded to meet the requirements of advertisers:

DanTeb is currently part of the Ryerson University’s DMZ incubator program and aims to have 20 stations setup by the end of March. Looks like a brilliant idea for those times when you need a quick boost for your iPhone. Let us know if you’ve tried out or seen the DanTeb stations in the wild.
