Man Dressed Like Apple Store Employee Steals 19 iPhones
According to a report by DNAInfo NewYork, a man dressed like an Apple store employee stole 19 iPhones from the tech giant’s SoHo location last week. The police said that the thief was “dressed similarly” to store employees, who usually wear blue T-shirts imprinted with an Apple logo, and walked right into an electronics repair room at about 5:30 p.m. on June 1.
The thief managed to grab 19 iPhones from a drawer inside the room, worth a total of $16,130. He then handed them over to his accomplice, who hid the phones under his shirt, said the police. The pair finally walked out of the store unnoticed. As to which iPhone models were stolen, has not been revealed.
While the police is still investigating the incident, Apple has not issued any official comment regarding the matter.

Are this iPhones iCloud locked ?
I wonder
It really doesn’t matter if the phones are locked or not. They can just sell the phones’ parts which still worth a lot. An iPhone 6 screen alone is worth like $150.
Only a user can iCloud lock a phone. You can’t do that if it hasn’t been activated. But they can block the IMEI number and void warranty on serial number. Way to get around that would just be to sell it in another country, or re-program an new IMEI.
Kind a reminds me of an old story where two guys walked into a local department store some years ago and hoisted a canoe from the store display. As they were carrying the canoe to the exit the store manager spotted them. The manger caught up them just in time to hand them the paddles (included with purchase) that they nearly forgot.
Poor guy, true story.
Reminds me of a story of a guy that used to mail himself boxes full of DVDs from a mailbox or Fedex box or something inside a Walmart. He’d gather the DVDs he wanted, box them and then mail them all from within the store.
