Telus, along with Quebec and the federal government, is expanding high-speed internet in eastern Quebec in 2021 and 2022.
Quebec and the government of Canada will fund $26 million to bring 5,000 households high-speed internet. Telus says its investment will expand this to 20,000 extra homes, for a total of 25,000 homes in eastern Quebec to get high speed by the end of 2022, which is 20 months away.
“Quebec’s 6,000 TELUS team members are particularly proud of the confidence that the governments of Quebec and Canada have shown in them, and we want to applaud their active contribution to deploying high-speed services in our communities,” says François Gratton, Executive Vice-President, TELUS and Chair, TELUS Health, TELUS Agriculture and TELUS Quebec, in a statement.
Telus also said today marks the completion of its Connect to Innovate and Québec Branché internet rollout projects.
For those living in rural areas, SpaceX’s Starlink internet is also available for sign up for Canadians right now.
