The Babylon by Telus Health virtual healthcare app has been renamed as of Monday.

The app’s new name is Telus Health MyCare, which seems like a better fitting title compared to before. The app allows users to see a doctor virtually from their smartphone in British Columbia, Alberta, Ontario, Saskatchewan, and Quebec, while counsellors and dietitians are available in select provinces.

Virtual appointments allow users to get prescriptions or referrals from within the app, without the need to visit a physical doctor’s office or location.

We actually tested out this virtual healthcare app from Telus earlier this year in B.C., when our stupid AirPods Pro replacements gave us an ear infection. We were able to see a virtual doctor and get a prescription sent to our local pharmacy.

During the height of the COVID-19 lockdown last year, the Babylon by Telus Health app as it was formerly known, surged in popularity. Last April, the app was being investigated by Alberta’s Privacy Commissioner, over concerns of its privacy compliance.
