Apple Confirms ChatGPT Integration for iOS, macOS in 2024
Apple CEO Tim Cook has announced that ChatGPT integration across iOS 18, iPadOS 18, and macOS Sequoia is on track for completion by the end of this year (via MacRumors).

Cook made this announcement during Apple’s quarterly earnings call, providing an update on the timeline initially revealed at the WWDC keynote in June.
With the upcoming integration, Siri will leverage ChatGPT to provide answers to user queries and prompts, enhancing its functionality. This integration will also extend to Apple’s system-wide Writing Tools feature, enabling users to generate text and images using ChatGPT’s capabilities.
iPhone, iPad, and Mac users will be able to access ChatGPT for free without needing to create an account. Additionally, those subscribed to ChatGPT Plus will have the option to connect their accounts to unlock paid features on these devices.
Apple Intelligence features began rolling out to developers for testing with the iOS 18.1 beta earlier this week, although ChatGPT integration is not yet available. To use these new features, users will need an iPhone 15 Pro, iPhone 15 Pro Max, or a Mac or iPad equipped with an M1 chip or newer.
Initially, the device’s language must be set to U.S. English, with support for additional languages expected to be introduced over the coming year.

The full suite of Apple Intelligence features is anticipated to be available to the public by the time iOS 18.4 is released, around March 2025.
By bringing ChatGPT’s advanced AI capabilities to its devices, Apple aims to provide users with more powerful and intuitive tools for both personal and professional use.
