How to Access Hidden Forest Wallpaper in macOS Sequoia
Developers who installed the latest macOS Sequoia beta 5 release have discovered a hidden gem in the form of a new forest-themed wallpaper named “Sequoia Sunrise.”

As noted by MacRumors, this wallpaper has not been officially announced or made accessible through the standard Wallpaper interface in the Settings app, making it a delightful find for those who stumbled upon it.
First discovered by Mr. Macintosh, a well-known source for Mac-related updates, this new macOS wallpaper can be accessed by navigating to the /System/Library/Desktop Pictures/.wallpapers folder.
To view hidden files in this directory, users need to use the Shift + Command + Period keyboard shortcut. This discovery has excited many Mac users who appreciate unique and visually appealing desktop backgrounds.
For those eager to adorn their desktops with the “Sequoia Sunrise” wallpaper, Mr. Macintosh has made the image available for download on his website. Alternatively, users can manually extract the file from the aforementioned system folder.
Once the wallpaper is obtained, setting it as the desktop background is straightforward. Simply right-click on the image file and select the “Set Desktop Picture” option from the context menu.

In addition to the static image, there is also a dynamic .mov version of the “Sequoia Sunrise” wallpaper that features subtle movements, enhancing the visual experience. However, it is worth noting that this dynamic version does not include a Dark Mode variant.
This means that the wallpaper will not automatically adjust its appearance based on the system’s Dark Mode settings, a feature some users may miss.
