Disney+ to Stream New Beatles Documentary by Martin Scorsese

Disney+ has announced the upcoming release of Beatles ’64, a new documentary produced by Martin Scorsese and directed by David Tedeschi, set to stream exclusively on November 29, 2024.
The film captures The Beatles’ first visit to America, featuring rare, never-before-seen footage of the band and their fans during the early days of Beatlemania. Ladies, time to break out the smelling salts again.
On February 7, 1964, The Beatles arrived in New York City, greeted by thousands of excited fans at Kennedy Airport. Their iconic debut on The Ed Sullivan Show was watched by over 73 million viewers, marking a historic moment in TV.
Beatles ’64 not only shows these public events but also gives a more personal look at John, Paul, George, and Ringo as they experienced insane levels of fame.
The documentary includes restored footage shot by filmmakers Albert and David Maysles, along with live performances from The Beatles’ first U.S. concert in Washington, D.C., and their Ed Sullivan appearances. The footage has been demixed and remixed, with contributions from Paul McCartney, Ringo Starr, and fans.
Alongside the film’s release on Disney+, seven Beatles albums from their early American releases will be reissued on vinyl. These albums, cut from the original mono master tapes, will be available on November 22, 2024, as part of a box set titled The Beatles: 1964 U.S. Albums in Mono, with six of the titles also sold individually.
