Google Unveils Veo 2 and Imagen 3, Introduces New Whisk AI Tool

Google has unveiled significant advancements in generative AI with the release of Veo 2, its latest video generation model, and Imagen 3, an enhanced image-generation platform.

Both models are now integrated into Google Labs tools—VideoFX for video creation and ImageFX for images—and are accessible to more users globally. A new experiment, Whisk, further marks Google’s push toward user-friendly AI-powered creativity.

Veo 2 sets a new standard in AI video generation, offering highly realistic videos that are adaptable to diverse styles and genres. From photorealistic scenes to artistic effects, it leverages cinematic understanding, enabling features like lens selection, shallow depth of field, and realistic movement representation.

The model supports up to 4K resolution and extends to longer video durations, enhancing its versatility. Compared to existing solutions, Veo 2 also reduces common AI-generation errors like distorted human features or unrealistic objects.

Meanwhile, Imagen 3 builds on its predecessors, offering superior rendering across various artistic styles, from realism to abstract creations. This improved model delivers images with richer textures, brighter compositions, and better fidelity to user prompts. The tool now powers ImageFX, a Google Labs product available to users in over 100 countries, making it widely accessible for personal and professional creative projects.

The newly launched Whisk combines Imagen 3 with Gemini—Google’s visual understanding model—to enable innovative remixing of images. Users can input images, generate captions using AI, and remix elements like subject, style, or scene into personalized outputs such as stickers or digital merchandise.
