LG UltraGear GX9 Revealed: First Bendable 5K2K Gaming Monitor

LG has revealed its new UltraGear GX9 gaming monitors ahead of CES 2025. The latest UltraGear display is the first bendable 5K2K OLED gaming monitor with Dual-Mode. This year, LG will be launching the 45GX990A and 45GX950A models alongside an UltraGeart 39GX90SA.
The company’s 2025 display lineup includes the UltraGear GX9 45GX990A, a 45-inch gaming monitor with a supported resolution of 5120×2160. It offers a 21:9 aspect ratio, which LG claims “offers a more immersive gaming experience than standard 16:9 displays.” Its bendable display technology makes the UltraGear GX9 stand out in the market. It can smoothly transition from a completely flat orientation up to a 900R curvature “within seconds.”
The display also supports an upgraded Dual-Mode, which supports resolution and refresh rate presets for users to swap between. Dual-Mode also includes customizable aspect ratios (21:9 or 16:9) and picture sizes ((39-, 34- or 27-inches), which enables users to truly tailor their experience while playing games. In total, there are eight configurations to choose from, all made for various games and genres spanning FPS titles and racing simulators.
The secondary model in the series is the UltraGear GX9 45GX950A. While supporting the same 45-inch display size, aspect ratios, and 5K2K resolution, this model doesn’t offer a bendable display. Instead, it offers a fixed 800R curve to users. The company claims that this model is able to provide “sharp, lifelike images with the stunning colours and exceptional contrast LG OLED products are known for.”
Finally, the UltraGear 39GX90SA is a curved display powered by webOS. Unlike the 45GX990A and 45GX950A, this 39-inch OLED display is said to function as a “home entertainment hub.” It supports all streaming services without a PC or streaming device. It offers a 21:9 aspect ratio with an 800R curve. There are also USB-C ports available for connectivity.
As we’re still ahead of CES 2025, release date specifics and Canadian pricing are still unknown. However, we expect more news to come as the Las Vegas conference begins on Tuesday, January 7th, 2025.
