iFixit already posted its teardown of Apple’s entry iPhone 16e, but now it’s sharing an even closer look at the company’s first in-house modem, the C1 chip.

In a follow up post on its website, iFixit has shared images of the iPhone 16e logic board, snapped using an iPhone 16e, naturally of course.

Below, you can see the location of the Apple C1 chip, highlighted in orange:

The C1 chip is found on the RF board bottom, which is attached on top of the main logic board. Joining the bottom and to the right of the C1 is the USI WiFi and Bluetooth module, while there are also three Broadcom communication modules and one other from Skyworks and Murata.

Apple’s iPhone 16e starts at $899 in Canada. It’s likely that future iPhones will also house the C1 chip, which is said to be far more power efficient than Qualcomm chips from before, resulting in better battery life.
