AirPods Max Drop to Lowest Price Yet with 23% Off Deal

Apple’s newest AirPods Max, which only gained a USB-C port and some new colours last September, are on sale for 23% off.

Walmart.ca has AirPods Max priced at $599, saving you $180 off the Apple.ca retail price of $779. It’s crazy that after all these years AirPods Max have not seen a MSRP price drop, despite using the same tech.

AirPods Max with USB-C, released in September 2024, marked a subtle but significant update to Apple’s premium over-ear headphones, originally launched in 2020 with a Lightning port. The switch to USB-C aligns with modern charging standards, allowing users to charge the headphones using the same cable as newer iPhones, iPads, and Macs, streamlining the Apple ecosystem experience.

You can see from our screenshot below AirPods Max are sold and shipped by Walmart and not a third-party company, so you can rest assured these are legitimate.

A firmware update coming soon (iOS 18.4) will further enhance the USB-C model by enabling 24-bit, 48 kHz lossless audio and ultra-low latency over a wired USB-C connection, a feature not available in the Lightning version. This will benefit audiophiles and music creators using apps like Logic Pro.

Apple also recenlty introduced a USB-C to 3.5mm audio cable, restoring wired playback functionality that was initially missing from the USB-C model, which is ideal for scenarios like in-flight entertainment or connecting to devices with a headphone jack.

Despite these upgrades, the core design, sound quality, and features like Active Noise Cancellation and Spatial Audio remain unchanged from the original. We still don’t have the newer H2 chip found in the lateset AirPods models.

Walmart’s AirPods Max listing is at $599 and all colours are on sale.
