Apple Spotlights Magnifier for Mac Feature in New Ad [VIDEO]
Apple’s upcoming iOS 19 and macOS 16 will introduce Magnifier for Mac, allowing users to magnify real-world objects using their iPhone or USB camera for enhanced accessibility.

The company has highlighted the feature in a new video demonstrating its application in a classroom setting, where a student uses an iPhone mounted on a MacBook to zoom in on a distant whiteboard.
Magnifier for Mac utilizes the Continuity Camera feature to connect an iPhone to a Mac, enabling real-time magnification of physical objects. Users can customize the view with adjustable brightness, contrast, color filters, and perspective settings. The tool also supports multiple live session windows, allowing simultaneous magnification of different areas, such as a presentation and a textbook.
This feature builds upon the existing Magnifier app available on iPhone and iPad since 2016, which provides similar functionalities for mobile devices. The expansion to Mac aims to offer a more integrated experience for users across Apple’s ecosystem.
In addition to Magnifier for Mac, Apple has announced several other accessibility enhancements:
- Accessibility Nutrition Labels: These labels will be added to App Store listings, providing information about an app’s accessibility features, such as VoiceOver support and adjustable text sizes.
- Braille Access: A new tool that transforms Apple devices into Braille note-taking instruments, catering to users who rely on Braille for reading and writing.
- Accessibility Reader: A system-wide feature that allows customization of text appearance across apps and physical documents, aiding users with dyslexia or low vision.
These updates are part of Apple’s ongoing commitment to inclusivity, aiming to provide tools that cater to the diverse needs of its user base. Check out the following video and tell us what you think in the comments below.
