Amazon’s New AI Voice Tool Talks You Through Product Reviews

Amazon app ai feature.

Amazon is trying out a new feature that reads out short audio summaries of products to help customers shop more easily. The feature, which is currently being tested in the United States, uses generative AI to create quick voice clips that explain key product features. These audio summaries are pulled from product listings, customer reviews, and other online information.

The idea is to make shopping faster and more convenient, especially for items that require a bit more research before buying. Amazon says the tool acts like a helpful friend giving you a quick rundown of what you need to know, which can be useful if you’re multitasking or just prefer listening over reading.

To hear the summaries, U.S. customers using the Amazon Shopping app can tap the “Hear the highlights” button on select product pages. The test includes products like blenders, headphones, body oils, and water tables—items where shoppers often compare specs and features.

The company says the AI works by using large language models to write scripts based on product info and then turning those scripts into short audio clips. This builds on other AI tools Amazon has introduced, such as its shopping assistant “Rufus,” (which is now available in Canada in beta) AI-generated shopping guides, and summaries of customer review trends.

While this feature is only available to a limited number of users in the U.S. right now, Amazon says it plans to expand it to more products and customers in the coming months. There’s no word yet on when or if it will launch in Canada.

Through the FAKE reviews you mean….Scamazon has lost all credibility with paid and seller sponsored reviews. That's when they are not blatantly fraudulent.
